The Chicago Fire Department had it's 1st Portable toilet Support Service Unit 4-0-4 made her inaugural run to the 3-11 fire at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church this afternoon, along with Canteen 4-0-2.

This tragedy will never make any sense !!

Today, January 31, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. A press conference was held to share information about the loss of Captain Max Fortuna. Stockton Fire Chief Richard Edwards shared the following statement:

“This morning at approximately 4:45 a.m. the Stockton Fire Department’s Emergency Communications Division received a 911 call for a dumpster fire in the area of Washington and Aurora Streets. Engine 2 arrived on the scene a short time later and found a dumpster fire impinging on a structure. As firefighters were extinguishing the fire, gunshots were heard, and the Fire Captain of Engine 2 had been struck. Firefighters quickly transitioned to providing EMS care and transported him to the hospital.

I’m devastated to report that Veteran Fire Captain Max Fortuna has succumbed to his injuries. Captain Fortuna served the City of Stockton for 21 years and leaves behind a wife and two grown children. I ask you to keep Captain Fortuna’s family and the Stockton Fire Department family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."

We are sad to announce that 30 year-old Firefighter Mashawn Plummer of Chicago Fire Engine Co. 94 passed away this afternoon from injuries sustained in a fire he responded to in the early morning hours last Thursday. Please pray for our heroes of the Chicago Fire Department and the Plummer family.

Coming soon ! We are proud to announce that our Unit #404 is now equipped with 2 Portable Toilets inside the truck. It has just been painted and installed. It's high tech ventilation and sanitation is ready for the next fire. Our Chicago Firefighters and Police Officers can use these portable restrooms that are equipped with sinks and hand sanitizer stations and hooks for their equipment. It is the 1st of it's kind in Department history. We are there when they need us!

We are excited to have of Annual Toy Parade back! Santa will be with us to help pick donations along the route. The parade begins at 10am we will head West on 43rd to Wallace, North to Root Street, West to Union, North to 26th St, East to Wallace, South to 43rd St. Every child deserves a toy for Christmas.
