Over the last year, the COVID-19 pandemic has made it even more challenging for EMS personnel on the frontlines who have continued to provide exceptional patient care. Today we also remember our Brother Robert Truevillian who served on frontlines, and made the ultimate sacrifice caring for Covid 19 patients. His badge is now enshrined in that sacred hallway at the Quinn Fire Academy, so his sacrifice is never forgotten. #local2atwork #cfdprofessionals #LODD #EMSWeek #local2ems

Here's a look at forecast temperatures and wind chills late this afternoon through the weekend. Notice wind chills remain below 0° the entire time, and in north central Illinois below -15°. These wind chills are enough to be dangerous for concerns of rapid frostbite.

One of the MABAS Division 22 Departments that we serve. Rest In Peace RETIRED Chief Fred Eggert.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Retired Fire Chief Fred Eggert. Chief Eggert served the Village of Merrionette Park as Fire Chief from 1960 – 1977. Chief Eggert laid the groundwork for the Fire Department that we have today. In 1967, Chief Eggert was instrumental in bringing emergency medical services to the fire department. This program was so successful that it is still being used today. Being a true public servant Chief Eggert became Mayor of the Village of Merrionette Park and continued to move our community forward.

The services for Retired Chief Eggert will be on January 7, 2021

Hello All,
This is a photo of Museum VP Joe Woyjeck having the door panel of Engine 51 signed by Mr Mike Norell.
Mr Norell played the beloved Captain Stanley in the the tv show “Emergency!”.
Mr Norell is in a long term assisted living facility where he is getting incredibly good care.
The holidays can be tough times for many of us and because of the virus visitors are limited if allowed at all.
So in an effort to show,
“Captain Stanley” that you care please consider sending him a holiday card or a note of support, maybe you can share your favorite,
Captain Stanley line in your note.

I know many of you know or can figure out where Mr Norell is living but PLEASE do not contact the facility.

AGAIN-PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE FACILITY WHERE HE LIVES!

Please mail your cards and notes to,

Mr Mike Norell

All Will County Residents:
Effective Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at 100 PM Central Daylight Time (CST), the US National Weather Service Chicago Illinois, will change Public Forecast Zones encompassing Cook and Will Counties in northeast Illinois. Upon implementation of this change, all public forecasts and related products will use the zone numbers and names listed below.

If March 3, 2020 is declared a Critical Weather Day, this implementation will be postponed to March 10, 2020.

These changes have been coordinated with partnering agencies and will improve forecast services to the city of Chicago and the Chicago metropolitan area by allowing for more refined watches, warnings and advisories.

The new zones will be divided as follows:
Divide the current Cook County forecast zone (ILZ014) into three zones: Northern Cook County, Central Cook County and Southern Cook County
The Central Cook County zone will contain the entire city of Chicago except for a small portion within DuPage County.

Divide the current Will County forecast zone (ILZ022) into three zones: Northern Will County, Southern Will County, Eastern Will County

The new zone numbers, names, and description of the zone areas are listed below.

WFO Chicago Public Forecast Zones being divided:
