We are so proud of Women’s Board member Lisa Feit Silverman for being recognized by TOV Volunteer Network (JUF), and for all of her hard work on behalf of the community! Mazel tov, and thank you, Lisa!

Congratulations to our November Volunteer Spotlight: Lisa Silverman! We couldn't do what we do without the help of our incredible volunteers like you!

Lisa has been volunteering with TOV since 2014 through the JUF Uptown Cafe, Good Deeds Day, and Nourish Our Neighborhoods. We wanted to get to know Lisa a little bit more, so she answered some of our questions below:

How did you first get involved with JUF/TOV? What makes it important for you to volunteer through TOV? Are there any fun facts about you that we might not know? Feel free to also share a story or experience that has inspired you.

"I became involved in JUF when I moved to Chicago 10 years ago. I was looking for a community to feel at home. When I walked into my first Spring Event, a room filled with 800 Jewish women, all trying to make other lives better, I knew I found that community.
I have been involved in various TOV events over the years through JUF. As my involvement increased, I was invited to join Nourish Our Neighborhood. Giving back fills my soul. I am always inspired by the women of Chicago’s generosity of time, energy, ideas and financial support. I feel so lucky to be a part of this group."

We are so lucky to have Lisa as part of our TOV family! To learn more about JUF’s important work in the community, sign up to volunteer, or to make a donation in her honor, please visit JUF.org/TOV

Millions of readers wept at Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s column “You May Want To Marry My Husband”, which was published in the @nytimes- Modern Love section in 2017, days before she died of cancer. Now, hear from father daughter duo Jason & Paris Rosenthal, about finding resilience in unexpected ways in the face of tragedy. Read more in this months Jewish Chicago.

Although it is always sad to say goodbye, this time it is especially bittersweet. Today we say goodbye to Jordyn as she moves into a new chapter of her life. We couldn’t be prouder of the work she has done with JUF and Women’s Philanthropy and we know we’ll see great things from her. ❤️❤️

We've had a fun-filled holiday season thanks to our dedicated #CJEVolunteers and community friends! We were happy to share "Mugs of Love" from Jewish United Fund of Chicago - JUF's Young Families/PJ Library Chicago program with Robineau residents and #Chanukah gift bags from the JUF Women's Philanthropy Women's Board with our Adult Day Services clients. In addition, we stuffed holiday gift bags for residents in CJE's #independenthousing communities with goodies—menorahs, sweet treats, holiday wishes, prayers, songs, and recipes (translated in Russian) along with beautiful Chanukah cards from Lubavitch Chabad of Skokie! #CJESeniorLife #JUFChicago #volunteer #dogood #olderadults
