We're so proud to celebrate the 25 incredible fellows from Illinois and our first ever from Indiana, at our 2026 cohort closing celebration last Friday. These dedicated individuals gave so much to get here — weekly classes, hands-on training, mentorship, and months of hard work, and every bit of it was in service of something bigger than themselves.

As future DOJ-accredited representatives, they are on the path to providing quality legal services to Illinois and Indiana immigrants in a moment when our communities need defenders more than ever.

We won. 🙌 After six long months of organizing, weekly trips to Springfield, hundreds of meetings with legislators, and with your solidarity, we helped protect funding for programs that Illinois immigrants depend on. In the hardest budget year in recent memory, people power made all the difference. But the work isn't over.

While we celebrate blocking devastating cuts to critical programs, we also know that it's not enough. As federal attacks escalate, the gap between what's needed and what's funded is widening. TRP organizers are in the field every day working to fill that gap, and we couldn't do it without you. đź’™ When the state falls short and need continues to grow, our community is what carries us through.
