Chicago Charity Challenge

Chicago Charity Challenge The mission of the Chicago Charity Challenge is to motivate and inspire Chicago-area businesses and their employees to give back to the community.

The Chicago Charity Challenge teams businesses with charities to motivate, support and reward employee giving. Businesses compete by teaming up with a nonprofit of their choice and engaging their employees to volunteer and fundraise throughout the year. Money awards are granted to the charity partner of companies that contribute the most time or money or make the greatest impact on a social issue or lower-income community. Since 2014, our Challenge teams have raised over $22 million and donated 80,000 hours!

Who should we highlight this week?...we know, how about our 2015 Grand Prize Winner Kolcraft and March of Dimes Illinois Chapter!

A little background: Each year, Kolcraft employees fundraise for March of Dimes Illinois Chapter and their March for Babies walk in April. They raised money by asking their personal networks, giving personally, and fundraising internally at the office. Example: they collected change in their lunchroom - easy yet effective! Employees also made care packages and blankets for families, siblings and babies. Volunteers can't go into the NICU but that didn't stop this team from finding innovative ways to support their charity.

Single days of volunteer service are exciting, moving, impactful, and inspiring. Getting a team of employees out to paint a school, build a playground, or read with dozens of children at the same time is great. But after a year or two of the ‘one and done’ volunteer events, many corporate employees…
