🎒📚 Hilliard Back-to-School & Community Resource Event! 📚🎒
Rain or shine, our community shows up! 💜

Despite the rainy weather, Hilliard’s Back-to-School & Resource Event on Saturday, August 15th was a wonderful success!

We were excited to welcome six community agencies that provided valuable resources, information, and giveaways to residents who stopped by their tables.

Families also enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon featuring: 🎒 Book bags filled with school supplies from HHCD
🍿 Popcorn & snowballs
🥤 Cold drinks & food
🎶 Music
🎟️ Raffles & giveaways
🎨 Face painting
🤝 Community resources and connections

Most importantly, it was a great opportunity to bring residents, families, community partners, and staff together as we prepare our students for another successful school year!

💜 Community Immersion in Action at Lawson! 💜
Lawson had the pleasure of welcoming Loyola University students pursuing their Master’s degrees in Social Work as part of their Community Immersion Project!

The students spent the day rolling up their sleeves and making a difference—organizing our clothing closet and beginning to identify resources to help meet residents’ needs, including hygiene products, food resources, and other essential items.

We’re excited to welcome them back tomorrow for another day of learning, collaboration, and community impact. We can’t wait to see what else we accomplish together!

A very special thank you to HHCD Staff Sequocoria and Trina for taking the time to share their personal stories and experiences with the students. Your voices help future social workers better understand the strength, challenges, and resilience within the communities they will serve. 💜
