Last Friday, we held our annual Peer Support Volunteer Training, bringing together legal professionals from across Illinois both in person and virtually for meaningful conversations about mental health, well-being, and substance use within the legal profession. We are grateful to everyone who took the time to participate, share their perspectives, and strengthen their ability to support colleagues in need.
The legal profession continues to face unique challenges, and as the world around us evolves, so do the pressures affecting those who practice law. That's why ongoing education and awareness remain so important. By creating space for open and honest discussions, we can help reduce stigma, encourage help-seeking, and foster a healthier legal community.
We also want to extend a special thank you to ISBA Mutual Insurance Company for generously hosting this year's training and helping make the event possible. Their partnership and support of lawyer well-being initiatives are greatly appreciated.
Thank you again to everyone who joined us. Together, we can continue building a legal community where conversations about mental health and substance use are welcomed, resources are accessible, and support is always within reach.
