Why I run 26.2 for Team CPMF: "A few years ago I was nearly 300 pounds and walking through the hardest season of my life after losing our oldest daughter. Running became my therapy, my prayer time, and my way forward — and this October it becomes my first full marathon. I run for the families of Chicago's fallen and catastrophically injured officers, because my family knows what loss does to a home, and the Foundation makes sure these families never carry it alone.
