Several members of The Ark team were honored to join the community in Skokie for the dedication of Hersh's Fridge, created in memory of Hersh Goldberg-Polin. It was meaningful to gather alongside Hersh’s parents, Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin, and so many neighbors to honor his life through a project rooted in dignity, care and access to food.

Hundreds of people gathered in Skokie on Wednesday for the dedication of a new kosher fridge honoring the life of Hersh Goldberg-Polin.

We’re looking for an organized, people-oriented person who enjoys keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. This full-time role combines volunteer support, data and Salesforce management, scheduling, program preparation, and day-to-day department operations.

By giving clients the time and personal assistance they need, Hannah is helping make access to food a little easier while strengthening the connections that make The Ark feel like a community.

As summer comes to a close, we’re saying a big thank you to our Lewis Summer Intern Program interns for everything they brought to The Ark these past few months.

Alexa, Chloe, Farin, Hila, Matthew, Josh R., and Josh M. jumped into projects across marketing, development, food security, IT, data, and social services, bringing fresh ideas, plenty of energy, and a willingness to help wherever they were needed. We’re so grateful for the work they did and for all the fun they brought along with them.

And a special thank you to Henry and Raphael, our Facilities interns, who worked behind the scenes all summer helping keep The Ark running smoothly.

We loved having this group as part of The Ark this summer and can’t wait to see what they do next!

A huge thank you to Beber Camp in Mukwonago, Wisconsin for supporting our Pack the Pantry Drive! As part of their Teen Leadership Program’s Pioneer Day of Action, Beber’s Pioneers rolled up their sleeves and helped prepare pantry collection bags.
