Vision Statement: To be the premier CBRN Chemical Battalion in the United States Army Reserve. We will achieve success by being a ready and relevant force by conducting aggressive, innovative, training that supports the core mission of providing CBRN chemical biological; radiology, and nuclear operations to joint task forces as well as support of our country’s homeland defense mission. In order to
accomplish the unit mission, we will be technically and tactically proficient. In today’s complex and uncertain environment, war fighting doctrine is constantly changing due to technology that is difficult to fathom, much less keep pace with. Our challenge is to grasp a complete understanding of these tactics and principles, and their application adaptability to the situational changes surrounding us. To obtain this knowledge, we will take full advantage of every educational opportunity and allow our Soldiers to attend military schools. Beyond their temporary loss, we are shaping our future force in ensuring our Soldiers will sustain the skills necessary to be technically and tactically proficient. Today’s complex and changing environment requires us to develop relationships based on mutual trust and confidence in order for us to achieve success. Together, we will develop the skills necessary to fight, survive and win in combat. The flexibility and adaptability of this unit will become the rule rather than the exception. Therefore, we will be open to all suggestions that will improve our capability to complete our mission. We will understand the broad impact our communications skills convey when engaging our Soldiers. Never underestimate the power of good interpersonal skills, for it is through this demeanor that Soldiers gain respect and confidence in their leaders and each other. The foundation of this unit will be solid in order for us to build a useful framework consistent with the Army values: loyalty, duty, respect, selfless-service, honor, integrity and personal courage. Within this context, we have a moral responsibility and a personal commitment to establish a climate of mutual trust, respect and sensitivity among all Soldiers of this unit. We will know the standard, train to standard, and most of all enforce the established Army standard. Our performance is shaped by discipline, and discipline is the bedrock of success. We will continue to discipline ourselves to always perform our duty to fulfill our obligations, and consistently take corrective action when we witness circumvention of standards. We will strive to properly train, motivate and inspire our Soldiers to achieve Army standards such as the height/weight standard and pass the APFT. However, when conducting training, our goal is to accept no unnecessary risk. We will employ risk management in a manner that allows individuals to make informed, conscious decisions to accept residual risks at acceptable levels. Remember, the goal is to be the premier CBRN Chemical Battalion in the United States Army Reserve.

Lieutenant General Charles D. Luckey, Chief of Army Reserve and Commanding General, U.S. Army Reserve Command, provides additional guidance in the Soldier Virtual Battle Assembly (SVBA) policy today.
LTG Luckey encourages leaders and to utilize the Double Eagle Application (DE App) as a tool to facilitate distributed communications, command and control, Soldier and unit competitions, Individual Soldier development opportunities, etc., and to capture "best practices" for exploitation as we press to improve that capability.
The entire policy can be found on the website: http://www.usar.army.mil/COVID19
