I've been notified of CPS' new punitive practice of locking teachers out of CPS systems, including their Google accounts, for not reporting to work in-person. At a time when our school communities are experiencing unprecedented levels of stress and trust in CPS is already frayed, this policy accomplishes nothing. It is frustrating and disappointing that such unproductive actions would be taken against our teachers and at the expense of our students. I'll be following up with CPS to ask for this policy to be reversed.

Hi Ald. This sign was tagged on the alley side of a carriage house on the 2500 blk between w Cortland and W Moffat st. I first noticed it this morning around 11a.
Alderman La Spata, you should not allow a predatory private company called Innovative Parking Solutions to boot cars legally and charge a $170 removal fee in your ward. Your constituents know that you allow this to happen. Do what is right and amend the ordinance to exclude the 1st Ward.
Wondering why your signature is not on this letter?!
Alderman, can you advise the next steps and timeline to address the recent alterations to modify ADA accessible sidewalks along the east side of Damen Avenue from Grand northbound? Work is nearly complete but as with other related work in the past, the restoration to adjoining parkways was never completed due to the damage caused by other improvements. The soil will need to infilled at a minimum. Damen and other main arteries would benefit from yearly seasonal maintenance to keep appearances to hold values in the neighborhood. Additionally, it would be beneficial to have a program in the Ward to address retail storefronts now empty due to the COVID impact. Storefronts lined with brown craft paper or murals by local artists would be a welcome sight until the economy recovers. We welcome your thoughts on these concerns.
When are you doing flu shots?
Who do we reach if we have damage debris to our house?
Alderman you are a joke, and useless. Please tell me exactly what have you done for people in your Ward? The people of the First Ward deserve better. We voted out the last useless Alderman, you will be voted out next.
Alderman La Spata 1st Ward tells Block Club Chicago "Glorifying Columbus is misguided. I would tear down that statue with my own two hands if I could.”
In September last year they repaved this section of California in front of the Shakespeare police station. This morning our building woke up to the sounds and vibrations of it being ripped up again. I called your office and spoke with Ashley who told me the city was resurfacing it and that the resurfacing, less than a year ago, was for a fiber-optic cable. You can see in the picture how fresh the pavement is by looking at the other side of the street (yet to be torn up) in the picture. My wife and I both voted for you and we encouraged our neighbors too and expected better service from your office. Ashley told me to call streets and sans, when I asked her what your office could do. I’ve lived in the ward for 20 years and 2 years ago the city replaced water pipes on this street. We called Alderman Moreno’s office and spoke to his constituency service that called streets and sans for our building. As Chicagoans I doubt we need to explain how an Alderman’s office has more clout calling a City Department, then a regular citizen. We voted for you because you promised reform and I hope you can see how wasteful and disruptive it is to repave a street 2x in one year. For now, we’ll be sharing your response with the 27 other units in our building. Maybe you can stop them from repaving the other side?
Please support 02020-2827. Thank you!
White Acura with a flat tire has been sitting on the 1300 block of North Western since winter (with no tickets). Red Mazda has been sitting (on the curb) front end smashed, back window busted out, glass on the sidewalk since the night of the first protests and subsequent looting. Police were called and have done nothing. Would this happen in Lincoln Park? Streeterville? Lakeview/Wrigleyville? What’s sad is the police have actually came when I called (albeit an hour late) and instead of taking information began to implicate me for preserving the scene (a phone was inside and I locked the doors to prevent a neighbor on the scene from attempting to steal the phone). It’s so unfortunate the cops in this area are too busy policing bodies that the dozens that pass this busy street daily fail to notice and address abandoned vehicles literally sitting on the curb. And it’s even more unfortunate that several calls and messages to both 311, 911 and your office have gone unanswered. Our tax dollars for city government and the police is going to amazing use. This affects local businesses on this street, residents and the safety of children and pets. What do you plan to do about this Alderman La Spata 1st Ward?
Sup dude? We spoke before, I'm the chick that made you cry because you refuse to say on your Alderman socials that Black Lives Matter. What the f**k is up with you not reporting about the CPD in CPS vote? You did it on your personal, why don't you want it part of the record? Why are you not going harder when your constituents have literally suffered war crimes at the hands of CPD? Why are you not going harder for children being brutalized in their own place of learning? You can take your time to answer, because I'm sure when I organize a protest outside your office the entire crowd will want to hear.
