Neighbors, we just got word from the Department of Transportation that the following 1st Ward streets are up next in their queue for resurfacing:

- Hoyne from Pierce to Potomac
- Paulina from Haddon to Chicago
- Fry from Ashland to Greenview
- Artesian from Wabsania to North Ave

The 1st Ward Office will be closed on Monday, October 12 in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day. There will be no refuse collection on Monday, October 12, 2026. All city-collected refuse will be serviced Tuesday through Friday. Please ensure all black refuse carts are accessible throughout the week of collection, not solely on their regular day of collection.

🚨 12th District CPD residents: Each fall, the Chicago Police Department hosts Community Conversations across the city. These meetings give residents an opportunity to help shape their district’s strategic plan for the coming year.

The 12th District will hold two meetings:
- October 1, 2026 at Whitney Young High School (211 S. Laflin St) from 6 to 8 PM
- October 22, 2026 at Holy Trinity Polish Catholic Church (1118 N. Noble St) from 6 to 8 PM

We just passed an ordinance requiring companies with City contracts to fully disclose whether they have worked with or profited from federal immigration enforcement. Transparency is accountability and Chicagoans deserve to know who we do business with.
