We empower young people through creativity, leadership, and real-world skill-building. Our youth programs provide a space where teens and young adults can develop their voices, build confidence, and take action in their communities. Through initiatives like Youth Self Enhancement Program, CREATE, Self-Care Kickback, and The Cypha, we offer hands-on experiences in media, arts, wellness, and leaders

hip training. Whether it’s podcasting, filmmaking, community organizing, or self-care activities, our programs equip youth with essential life skills, career readiness, and the tools to drive meaningful change.

It's time to get "Back To Afterschool" BEGINS 9/14

South Side Help Center's CREATE Afterschool program returns September 14, and our programs are back with two major announcements:

-ONE-ON-ONE MENTORING is now available to EVERY student enrolled. Not a waitlist. Not a select few. Every. Single. Student.

-4H IS HERE! This year we're partnering with 4H to bring hands-on STEM programming to our students. Real science. Real exploration. Real skills for the future.

And it's completely FREE for Chicago residents with valid verification.

Art. Music. Recreation. STEM. Real mentors. All in your neighborhood.

We've got them.
Off the Clock is offering FREE teen hangouts hosted by teens at SSHC, Tuesdays & Thursdays 5-7 PM, June 23-Aug 13, ages 14-19. Safe space, supervised, no cost. They let their hair down. You get peace of mind. Membership is free. Spaces are limited.

Teen Summer Hangout Series at South Side Help Center

This is a safe space for young people ages 14–19 to kick back, make friends, and have a real summer. Every week is something different:

South Side Help Center Youth programs is bringing 9 weeks of real trips, real skills, and real fun to rising 6th–8th graders. Swipe through to see everything we have lined up 👉

From STEM projects and digital skills to Fear Factor Day, Deep River Waterpark, and the Chicago Architecture Center — every week is packed. Every day has a purpose.

We take care of breakfast, lunch, and snack too. ✅

Summer hit different when it's built for YOU. The trips? Teen-picked. The workshops? Teen-led. The summer? This is the summer they'll actually want to talk about when school starts back.

✅ Membership is FREE — trips are the only fee.
✅ Members also unlock year-round programming at The Center, so the connection doesn't stop when summer ends.
