Rainbow PUSH Coalition The Rainbow PUSH Coalition (RPC) is a multi-racial, multi-issue, progressive, international membership organization fighting for social change.

Together, we will explore how violence affects the economic health and stability of our neighborhoods and discuss solutions rooted in the experiences and needs of our communities.
Co-hosted by Acclivus and moderated by Cleopatra Draper, radio host on WVON 1690 AM, the panel will feature:

• Alderman Lamont Robinson, 4th Ward
• Kelly Evans, Chicago Urban League

This is an opportunity to hear from leaders working across health care, the courts, government, and community organizations, and to consider what we can do together to build safer, healthier neighborhoods.

Election Day is getting closer, and we’re keeping the momentum going! Join us as we continue our efforts to get out the vote, encourage civic participation, and help our communities make their voices heard.

Stevie Valles, CEO of Chicago Votes, will join us for a conversation on getting out the vote and keeping people engaged as Election Day approaches. Together, we’ll explore how each of us can help bring more people into the conversation and turn everyday encouragement into action at the ballot box.

Every conversation, every invitation, and every voter matters. Whether you’re making your own plan to vote, checking in with family and friends, or encouraging someone to participate for the first time, you have a role to play. Our GOTV efforts will continue all the way through Election Day, and we invite you to be part of that work.

We are proud to welcome Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Talented Tenth District to the Rainbow PUSH Coalition for two exciting youth experiences happening during our Saturday Morning Forum programming: the Tenth District Youth Leadership Conference and Omega S.T.E.M. Fest.

From leadership and mentorship to science, technology, engineering and mathematics, young people will have the opportunity to learn, connect, explore, grow and see new possibilities for their futures.

Youth Leadership Conference: High school male students in grades 9–12 will take part in a day focused on real world skills, mentorship, personal growth and becoming stronger leaders in their schools and communities.

Omega S.T.E.M. Fest: Students will experience hands on activities, industry exposure, mentorship opportunities and real world learning designed to make STEM exciting, accessible and inspiring.

There could not be a more fitting way to celebrate Rev. Jackson’s birthday weekend. His life’s work has always been about opening doors, creating opportunities and reminding young people that their dreams matter. Bringing the next generation into the Rainbow PUSH Coalition for a day of learning, leadership and possibility continues that legacy.

Saturday Morning Forum focused on voter engagement, local elections, battleground states and the role young people can play in the midterm election process. The conversation will center on helping voters stay informed about the races and issues on their ballots and encouraging civic participation across generations.

President, Yusef D. Jackson will help lead the discussion as Rainbow PUSH continues its nonpartisan work to encourage informed participation and engagement in communities across the country.

Cameron Barnes | National Youth Director, Rainbow PUSH Coalition

Cameron will discuss local elections and the political landscape in key battleground states, with a focus on why voters should understand the offices, races and decisions being made at the local and state levels. He will also address ways communities can stay informed and engaged as the midterm elections approach.

Ellison Radek | Policy Fellow, Chicago Votes

Ellison will discuss the importance of youth voting and civic participation, including why young people should understand how elections affect their communities and how they can make their voices heard through informed participation in the democratic process.

We encourage members of the Rainbow PUSH family, young voters, families, community leaders and partners to join us for this timely conversation and to share this information throughout their networks.

Dr. Fluker will discuss his book, Wake Up Running: Building Democratic Space at the Crossings, and join us for a book signing following the program.

Professor Emeritus of Ethical Leadership at Boston University, Dr. Fluker previously held the university’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Chair. He currently serves as Distinguished Professor of the Howard Thurman Center at Hartford University for Religion and Peace.

His career also includes serving as founding director of the Andrew Young Center for Global Leadership at Morehouse College and editor of the Howard Thurman Papers Project. A recipient of the 2023 Roosevelt Institute Freedom of Worship Award, he has helped leaders across education, faith, business and public service explore the responsibilities of leadership and community.

We are pleased to welcome his experience and perspective to Rainbow PUSH. Come early for breakfast and fellowship, bring a friend, and stay afterward to meet Dr. Fluker during the book signing.
