The Jazz Institute of Chicago presents a tribute to the great Louis Armstrong and the centennial celebration of his arrival to Chicago. The featured band is the wildly popular Chicago Cellar Boys, the premier vintage band in Chicago. They will dazzle you with two sets of traditional jazz music focusing on early jazz of the 20th century. Be prepared to do a jig!

Opening for Cellar Boys, at 6:30, is Jazz Links Student Council band led by Jack Nelson.

Join Indian Boundary and other parks throughout the City in a fun challenge to see how many pollinators and pollinator-friendly plants can be found during September.
To join the self-guided challenge:
First, download the iNaturalist app (https://www.inaturalist.org/) and follow the instructions for Getting Started.
Then, join the Parks for Pollinators 2022: Chicago Park District project.
Finally, explore any of Chicago’s parks and take pictures of pollinators and plants and share them on the app.
The online community will help identify the species to see what pollinators and pollinator-supporting plants can be found in the parks.

Tomorrow is the day! The 2022 Mandala Makers Festival starts June 16.

The first event is the Parables in the Park at 6:30pm at Warren Park. The festival is for 11 days so there is plenty to watch out for and plan your days to see as many performances as you can! Devon Ave particularly will be activated as our artists and Mandala Arts explore our roots and pay homage to the unique cultures as South Asians.

Our three-day Artist Showcase is at Indian Boundary Park June 24-26.

Tucked away in the West Ridge neighborhood sits Indian Boundary Park and Cultural Center, a community treasure where visitors will discover a beautifully restored duck-filled lagoon, a children’s spray pool and sandbox, and tennis courts. The Ridge Avenue Park District began acquiring land for Indian Boundary Park in 1915 when Richard F. Gloede, designer of North Shore estate landscapes, developed an early park plan. Indian Boundary Park, a designated cultural center that offers classes in painting, piano, dance and voice for both children and adults, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

- Sat, Oct 16 from 12 - 5 p.m. visitors will have access to the 2nd-floor adoption floor to play and interact with the 🐱. The Cat Cafe is open for guests to get beverages.
- Sun, Oct 17 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. visitors will have tours with historical context.

Chicago Architecture Center hosts this free annual architecture fest offers behind-the-scenes, in-person site visits on October 16-17, plus self-guided architecture trails, programming and more all October.

Tucked away in the West Ridge neighborhood sits Indian Boundary Park and Cultural Center, a community treasure where visitors will discover a beautifully restored duck-filled lagoon, a children’s spray pool and sandbox, tennis courts, and zoo. The Ridge Avenue Park District began acquiring land for Indian Boundary Park in 1915 when Richard F. Gloede, designer of North Shore estate landscapes, developed an early park plan. In the mid-1920s, Ridge Avenue opened a small zoo, the city’s only remaining neighborhood zoo. Indian Boundary Park, a designated cultural center that offers classes in painting, piano, dance and voice for both children and adults, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.
