Update 7/19/2021 - The delays were mainly due to City Of Chicago inspections, permits, and up to code, etc... final permit received a week ago, full work is in progress, don't know when will complete or reopen.

TRANSCRIPT:

Hello everyone, I am on board of SDC (spelled out)

Understand some people reach out to me if SDC opens soon? open when? To be honest, no

I am here to show you video of what's up in the deaf center,
It happened recently (actually last year) on March 8, 2020, one of the apartment units got on fire, all the damages from the fire by firefighters to stop the fire, everything were heavily damaged to 1st floor, let me show you a video, it won't be ready to reopen yet.

I know, people saying COVID Phase 5, should be reopen, but honestly, this place is not ready yet, let me show you video here is the center, this is what it looks like. That's not ready, still delays, women's restroom is demolished, nothing in there, still waiting,

Apartment Units are our #1 priority for completion, Then SDC.

Lets go to Vella hall see what it looks like (no carpet, new ceiling tiles completed), all is bare.. now you see it, means not ready.....what can we do be patience wait and ready. Kitchen is not ready,.. that means everything is not ready

Now you see means not ready, sorry sweating from owing the grass, anyway I want to vlog you what you see what it looks like now.. sorry be patient with this and there is another video coming up.

This is what SDC looks like now, this is what we can do, try our best and wait out the covid, delays due to code updates, I can't give answers, reason workers behind, on hold due to city of chicago inspections permits, rules and up to code takes weeks to complete, review and approve with permit, we have to wait and patient with this Chicago permit process..

When and will SDC reopen ???? I don't know, sorry, that's all I can say.

Other video will be posted, follow this page. Thanks
