DYK?! Clarendon Community Center was originally constructed in 1916 as a bath house along the Lake Michigan Shoreline. Today, Chicago Park District, 46th Ward Alderman James Cappleman broke ground on a community-supported plan for the future of Clarendon Community Center. The $13M renovation project will improve the condition and usability of almost every space in the building.

On the 34th annual #WorldAIDSDay, Chicago Park District joined Chicago Parks Foundation, AIDS Garden Chicago, Ald. Tom Tunney, Chicago Department of Public Health, & AIDS Foundation Chicago at the site of the AIDS Garden Chicago, which is still under construction, to:
▶ Remember the 35M+ million people who have died of HIV/AIDS since 1986;
▶Acknowledge those who live with the virus;
▶ Celebrate what a community can achieve when it unites and acts up against a common threat;
▶ Highlight the fact that the battle against the disease is not over; and
▶ Commit to Getting to Zero (0) new HIV infections.
