Day #3 ERT report
Today started out with morning rain. The rain delayed our work several hours. We were able to start working on the house about 10:30am with so light rain showers.
Between the wet slippery roof and the muddy yard it became quickly apparent that it was not going to be a productive day. A check on the weather forecast showed afternoon and evening showers so we decided that we needed to get a couple temporary tarps on the roof to prevent any additional water from entering the home. The house not only had the corner destroyed but also the roof had several puncture holes in it. The temporary tarps got installed and we returned back to Anguilla UMC to wait out the storm system that is slowly passing through the area.
Our team has been blessed with a great place to stay and we have been well feed. Anguilla UMC is an active congregation for disaster response help.
God Bless and hopefully tomorrow will bring better weather to this area.

FUMC ERT trip report
Day 2 of work in Rolling Fork, Mississippi
Today was spent working on the removal of a section of home crushed by a large tree and then the rebuilding of the damaged area. The tree sliced off the corner of the house that was a large walk in closet and bathroom. Today we had the pleasure of working with an ERT member from Texas Conf.
We continued to remove the debris of the damaged section of the house. We then started the rebuilding part of this project. Stud walls were constructed and raised into position. Ceiling joists installed, roof rafters installed, some exterior wall panels installed and part of the roof deck installed. This rebuild is not very large but has become complex. The falling tree moved and twisted many parts of the house and we have discovered that nothing is square of plumb. This has caused many issues during rebuilding. Everything must be custom cut to fit together.
Hopefully the rain will stay away from Rolling Fork tomorrow so we can finish up the rebuild and make this home waterproof and safe.
Usually our team does not do rebuilding of homes but this was a special case and we had some extra time to help this wonderful homeowner.
Thanks again for all the prayers and donations, they help provide us with the strength and drive to help people during their time of great distress. God Bless everyone impacted by this tornado.

Pray and give amid Ian's devastation

Fully assessing Hurricane Ian's devastation will take time after it left more than 2.5 million people without power in Florida and many evacuated from their homes. The United Methodist Committee on Relief has released a $10,000 solidarity grant to the Florida Conference to purchase supplies and provide urgent services to survivors. What is now a tropical storm is forecast to continue its damaging path into South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. In the meantime, people can support those in Ian's path with their prayers and financial donations. Volunteers also are asked not to self-deploy.
