Today marks 75 years of The Adventures of “Ichabod and Mr. Toad”🐸

Walt Disney’s eleventh animated feature was the last of the package film era of the 1940s, releasing in 1949! This film was the most successful of Disney’s package films, earning what Walt Disney Animation Studios needed to bring back full-length films, starting with Cinderella. The Adventure of Ichabod and Mr. Toad also received a 1950 Golden Globe award for Best Color Cinematography🎨📽️

Wish this beautiful film a Happy Anniversary and celebrate Mr Toad by visiting the classic car museum this weekend! 🚙

“Hi! A few things about me…I am a mom to 17 year old triplets. I own a small home baking business but was a science teacher before I had my kids. I love Disney, travel, adventure, and being with my family. I have always loved Disney-I love a good fairy tale! My mom loved the old classics and I must have watched Pollyanna, Sword and the Stone and Robin Hood a million times! I visited the parks twice as a kid and once when I was just married. I fell in love with the parks and Disney even more when I took my own children. It was then that I did a deep dive into the history of the Disney company and Walt Disney. I have been so inspired by his life story-how he failed so many times before he succeeded. I am also inspired by this man who chose never to fully grow up, and to do things despite others telling him his ideas were crazy and impossible. I am inspired by his creative and curious spirit and by his relationship with his brother and business partner,Roy. I think I am most inspired by the confidence and belief in himself that Walt had. Walt was so unapologetically him genuine self no matter what. I want to believe that I can do the impossible and change the world for the better. Touring Walt’s birthplace taught me things about Walt’s life that I had never known before. I loved learning more about his parents and seeing how they nurtured the innovative, determined and creative side of Walt by being examples of those traits themselves. I absolutely LOVE meeting new Disney friends/fans and chatting/sharing our love for Walt. After my tour, I shared some photos on social media. Walt’s birthplace shared my photos on their socials and I decided to message them offering to volunteer for the non profit organization or in any way they needed help. I was so excited when they asked me to be a tour guide!! I hope to inspire others to be innovative, creative, confident, determined, and to follow their dreams just as Walt Disney did.”

🎂🎈Happy Birthday to the remarkable Uncle Robert Disney! Born on August 7th, 1861, Robert’s invaluable support helped Walt and Roy Disney to launch the Disney Bros. Studio from his small Craftsman home in Los Feliz, CA. Thanks to his belief and encouragement, the magic of Disney began. Here’s to celebrating the man who played a crucial role in bringing joy and imagination to the world.✨
