Hi Friends and Neighbors! This 4th of July weekend, Friends of Palmer will be working to provide a safe school campus for our children and neighbors while also protecting the new turf field and playground recently installed last fall.

No Fireworks Signage will be going up this week surrounding the school. And private security guards will be posted Friday – Sunday around campus.

Thanks to all who came to help clean out the long-overdue-for-a-trim Lawrence gardens on the north side of the street this morning! We finished four of the eight beds on Kostner and Lowell. Kildare and Kenneth next up!

ROAD CLOSURE: From May 24th to June 1st, the Chicago Department of Water Management is closing W Foster Ave, from N Pulaski Rd to N Keeler Ave.

Detour signs will be located at the intersection of W Foster Ave and N Pulaski Rd and the intersection of W Foster Ave and N Cicero Ave.

All traffic will be detoured to W Lawrence Ave and W Peterson Ave.

While the road will be detoured, local and business traffic can still receive access at the intersection of W Foster Ave and N Pulaski Rd and the intersection of W Foster Ave and N Cicero Ave.

I hope you and yours are hanging in there.

I’m reaching out to make sure you know about an upcoming opportunity to get your COVID-19 vaccine in the 39th Ward!

My office and I have partnered with our other local elected officials, Compassionate Care Network, and Jewel-Osco to host a vaccine clinic with 1,200 doses this coming Thursday, April 29 (second doses will be on May 20).

Here are all the details:
Date: Thursday, April 29 (second dose in same location May 20)
Time: 8 AM - 2 PM
Location: Salvation Army - Mayfair, 5020 N Pulaski (free parking on site)
