Computer Recycling with Youth Technology Corps and Morton College these will be stripped for hard drives and RAM for our high school programming ... the rest will be deconstructed teaching what's inside ... Sometimes visual artists or tech people build something new from the different components ... Recycle Reuse Rebuild ...
To many, it was that simple and easy. But the truth is, nothing good comes easily. 2 years ago, this journey started and finally came to pass this year.
The Community Engagement Exchange Program is the first of its’ kind to be organized and funded by the US government with the support of the U.S. Department of State ECA and implemented by IREX.
The experience of being part of this inaugural fellowship and represented Ghana 🇬🇭 with Jeffery Kwabena Yeboah is a dream come true. Inspiring the younger generation to pursue their dreams with passion and focus.
For sometime now, I have been inconsistent on Facebook for many reasons. Sometimes, you need to make time for yourself and the things that matters, which is okay.
I’m happy to receive my certificate of completion and 6.5 Continuing Education Unit from the George Mason University from the Senior Program Officer at the U.S Department of State, Sydney Plunkett under my project theme: Women and Gender Issues.
My story is the story of my mother and growing up in Battor. About 68 girls make it to senior high school as compared to 100 boys. More than ever, this has become difficult due to several economic and systemic challenges. This must change! As I look forward to implementing our post practicum project focused on improving the attrition gap through alternative digital, employable and leadership skills training.
I owe my biggest gratitude to Mawu [ God ], my family, supporters and my new family and partners at Youth Technology Corps - David, Mark Lennon. My leadership coach, Carmen, CEE Advisors and Specialist Mentors.
And to the best global network, CEE Fellows - aka: the resilient global group 😀.
PS: The shout of support in the video is how we stood up for each other throughout this entire journey that just begun. I decided to turn the flag upside down 😂😂.
Before you congratulate me, kindly pause and make a pledge to support and invest in promoting equitable access to all forms of economic and skills opportunities to everyone including women!
Youth Technology Corps the vision of YTC at Evanston Township High school is to democratize access to refurbished technology such as desktop computers and laptops to low-income communities in the Evanston community and beyond while fostering long - term relationships with future donations, educational programs, and activities.
On the 30th November 2022, YTC made a donation of desktops computers and laptops to the families in Evanston through the Equity 4 Evanston program and the Childcare Network of Evanston.
To expand our footprint we have reached out to an Orphanage in Haiti, a village in Durango , Mexico and the Proswrites Foundation in Ghana. These organizations are also receiving laptops to support their missions as we take part in a global effort to Bridge the Digital Divide. Together through collaboration and new access to technologies they can facilitate digital skills advancement of youth, women and girls groups.
Special thanks to all donors who have being supportive of this vision by making available their computers, to the Stable Road Foundation, Sargent Lundy, and to the booster club at ETHS for purchasing 3D printer for the Club and canon 4000DSLR to support CEE Fellow, Prosper Tornyi in his projects back in Ghana.

Community Engagement Exchange Program
YTC Mexico Exchange 2008 Youth Technology Corps took 24 Chicago Public School students to Durango, Mexico and donated 100 computers to communities in need. They stayed with the families of Durango and attended classes with their fellow Mexican students. They returned to the US changed forever. For most of my students it was the first time they were on an airplane.
Youth Technology Corps We are revamping our website and decided to get a photo shot. This is our favorite pose!
