Manufacturing's big challenge: Finding skilled and interested workers

Great to see Skill Scout mentioned in this Chicago Tribune article on local efforts to bridge the talent gap in manufacturing. They've been an outstanding partner in developing creative multimedia products - their videos showcasing different employers are one great example - to connect job seekers in a meaningful way with employers.

Felsomat, a German manufacturer that makes automation equipment for the automotive industry, has a talent problem that's become a growth problem.

INTERESTED IN A 50% REIMBURSEMENT FOR WAGES OR TRAINING COSTS? Technology & Manufacturing Association and the Alliance for Industry and Manufacturing team up to help local companies.

In partnership with the Technology & Manufacturing Association, the Alliance for Industry and Manufacturing has been awarded a $500,000 federal workforce grant through the Illinois Department of Commerce. The purpose of these grant funds is to help Illinois companies offset the training costs of newly hired workers using on-the-job training or upgrading the skills of their existing workers through incumbent worker training programs.

Please feel free to contact us as we would be happy to sit down with you to determine if your company is eligible to receive 50% wage reimbursement (new employees) or 50% reimbursement of eligible training costs (incumbent workers) under our current grant.
