250: Uphold Free Speech Rights

Call, write or visit your U.S. Senators and Representative to demand, on the 250th birthday of our country, that Congress uphold the first amendment rights of free speech and assembly now under threat. Trump's directive NSPM-7 (National Security Presidential Memorandum on Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence), ordering federal law enforcement to target and prosecute dissenters as so-called “domestic terrorists,” is a chilling abuse of power that can be unleashed on anyone. In Prarieland Texas, 15 anti-ICE activists tried under NSPM-7 have been sentenced to a total of 556 years in prison. Congress must block Trump's attempt to get $166 million new funding for NSPM-7 FBI counterterrorism. Instead pass the No Political Enemies Act SB 3646 / HR 7050 for accountability and defense of our country's foundational first amendment democratic rights.
