The 2026 NAFWS Alaska Summer Youth Practicum (AK SYP) is now accepting applications. The AK SYP is a free program for Alaska Native students who are 15-17 years of age. The program provides hands on and in-lecture experience for Alaska Native youth in natural resources management, conservation, and environmental science. Students will learn directly from Tribal Environmental Professionals on topics like: climate change, ANCSA, Indigenous knowledge, fish & wildlife management, invasive species, native plants, and more. Students will gain knowledge and skills to pursue education and career pathways in natural resource-related fields.
