Local Boy Scout Troop, located in Chickamauga, Ga., Cherokee Area Council, River District. To help other people at all times. How do we do this?

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath (or Promise) and the Scout Law. SCOUT OATH
On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law. To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight. SCOUT LAW

is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent. Troop 224 is thoroughly committed to the mission of the Boy Scouts of America. Our Scouting program is dedicated to passing on the values of Scouting that each of us hold so dear. The answer is simple, really. We offer the boys of our troop an exciting, challenging, and diverse program of activities in a very nurturing and supportive atmosphere. While the boys are engaged in all aspects of Troop 224’s program, they are always made aware of the values of Scouting and how it applies to each of the situations in which they are involved in hopes that throughout their lives they will remember and apply these values. Troop 224 cares for each individual boy. Each of the adults is extremely dedicated to helping youth grow and develop into responsible young men who recognize their duty to God, their duty to others, and their duty to themselves. Scouts and parents, we have a place for you in Troop 224 and will do our utmost to provide you the best that Scouting has to offer! In Service,

Troop 224 held their Summer Court of Honor tonight. The Scouts earned 78 Merit Badges, Awards and 8 new Ranks. Sean served as Master of Ceremonies and we swore in Isaac as the new Senior Patrol Leader. Everyone enjoyed pizza, cookie cake and fellowship afterwards!

Troop 224’s Eagle Scout Trey DeLancett stopped by our meeting tonight. He just graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island! Semper Fidelis

Troop 224 Congratulates Jackson for passing his Board of Review for his 1st Class rank and Myles for earning his first Scout rank last night. Our SPL also taught and practiced the three pot cleaning system for our new Scouts. Youth led!

Our August Troop activity is the Council Fall Camporee at Skymont. Scouts will be able to earn the Search and Rescue merit badge!

Three Scouts from Troop 224 ranked up tonight. Congratulations to Sean and Huston for earning their 2nd Class ranks and congratulations to C**t for earning his Scout rank. Well done!

Troop 224 spent an awesome weekend camping in Bryson City NC. We went rafting on the Nantahala and tubing on Deep Creek. Good times!
