We will have the Book Fair Tuesday, January 30th through Friday, February 2nd. Can't wait to see everyone shopping. The majority of items start at $3.00.

The students have been learning about Hispanic Heritage during library time. They enjoyed seeing the Mexican Folklore dances, the Piñata decorations, eating churros, and reading various books about the topic. Stay posted for more pictures and videos.

We finally have another Golden Ticket winner. Those tickets are hard to find!! Students also need to take and AR test and make a 100% to get at $10 gift card.

Collin won the Golden Ticket and selected a $10 Nintendo eGift Card. CONGRATULATIONS!!

On February 17 we hosted a Meet the Author. The author, Finley Richardson, is the 2023 Mobile County Distinguished Young Woman.

Wyatt from Mrs. Tejeda-Valera's class is our first Golden Ticket winner. He found a golden ticket in one of our library books and made a 100 on the AR test.

Our fall book fair will be next week. There has been a delay in delivery. It will be delivered and set up Monday morning. Students with money will be able to shop Monday on an adjusted schedule that is TBD. Parents can come shop Tuesday-Friday. The schedule in the picture is for Tuesday-Friday.

Math in the library! 2nd and 3rd grade students are working on understanding reading levels and all the numbers in between the lowest and highest reading level.

We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! This week student listened to "Drum Dream Girl." Inspired by the childhood of Millo Castro Zaldarriaga, a Chinese-African-Cuban girl who broke Cuba's tradition against female drummers, Drum Dream Girl tells an inspiring true story for dreamers everywhere.
Then, students did a colored the Cuban flag by color using their weekly sight words. The activity also connects our character education traits of community awareness and respect.

Fun Fact: Mrs. Rivero's(that's me) family is from Cuba.
