Adoption Information:
Adoption Fee: $45.00 (includes spay/neuter, microchipping, and vaccinations)
Surrender Fee: $55.00
City Licenses: $5.00 Altered pets, $10.00 Unaltered Pets (Rabies certificate is required when purchasing a City License)

Chickasha Animal Welfare is a municipal shelter operated and funded by the City of Chickasha, Oklahoma. Our team is dedicated to protecting and improving the lives of animals in our community. In addition to providing a safe and caring environment for adoptable animals, we are responsible for enforcing all animal-related laws within the City of Chickasha and for holding and caring for stray animals that are found within city limits. Beyond these core responsibilities, we also work to support responsible pet ownership through a variety of community services. These include a public spay and neuter program in partnership with OkHumane, city pet licensing, and educational outreach to help residents better care for their animals. Chickasha Animal Welfare operates daily with a very limited staff who are supported by several incredible volunteers. We maintain an active foster program and are always looking to partner with compassionate community members who want to assist in our mission of helping animals in need. Volunteers are welcome seven days a week after submitting a volunteer application, and we encourage anyone interested in making a difference in the lives of animals to get involved.

🚨 URGENT: TURTLE, ALFIE & RICO NEED HOMES 🚨

We are running out of time for these three boys.

Turtle, Alfie, and Rico have been waiting patiently, but shelter life is taking a toll on them. The stress, noise, and constant kennel environment are becoming too much, and they have just ONE WEEK to find adopters or rescues.

All three are:
🐾 Dog friendly
🐾 Looking for adult-only homes
🐾 Ready for a fresh start
🐾 Will be neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to adoption

These boys are so much more than kennel dogs. They deserve a couch to relax on, a family to love them, and a chance to show who they really are outside the shelter. We truly believe they will thrive once given the opportunity to decompress in a home environment.

These two photos were taken less than 2 days apart.

The first photo shows a dog in the shelter—overwhelmed, stressed, and unsure of what comes next. The second photo shows that same dog after just one day in a foster home.

A soft bed. A quiet place to rest. A chance to decompress. A chance to simply be a dog.

Fostering saves lives in more ways than one. It gives animals a break from the stress of shelter life, helps us learn more about their personalities, and opens up kennel space for the next animal in need. Sometimes all it takes is a few days in a home for a dog to start shining.

🧁🐾 Muffins is looking for her forever family! 🐾🧁

At just 2 years old and 31 pounds, Muffins is the perfect-sized companion. Not too big, not too small—just right! ❤️

Muffins loves people, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and has a sweet, affectionate personality that makes everyone fall in love with her. She would love nothing more than a family of her own and a comfy spot to curl up after a day of adventures.

Unfortunately, Muffins has tested positive for heartworms. The good news is that heartworm disease is treatable, and Chickasha Animal Welfare will cover the cost of her heartworm treatment through our veterinarian. She simply needs a loving home where she can rest and recover while receiving the care she needs.

Please don’t let a heartworm diagnosis stop you from meeting this amazing girl. Muffins deserves a chance at a happy ending, and we know her perfect family is out there.
