..FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central and southwest Oklahoma, including the
following counties, in central Oklahoma, Canadian, Cleveland,
Grady, Lincoln, Logan, McClain, Oklahoma and Pottawatomie. In
southwest Oklahoma, Caddo and Comanche.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Rain is expected to continue over areas that have already
experienced rain in central Oklahoma.

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 9 PM CDT
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to
111 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, northern,
southeast, southern and southwest Oklahoma.

* WHEN...Tuesday afternoon into the early evening.

* IMPACTS...Extreme heat and humidity will significantly
increase the potential for heat related illnesses,
particularly for those working or participating in outdoor
activities.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

10am update: We're watching for storms to continue to spread southeast, with additional storms expected to develop north of the I-44 corridor from OKC down toward Lawton. No significant severe weather is expected, but watch for heavy rain and gusty winds.

2pm update - watching for storm development from west central into northwest and north central Oklahoma this afternoon. We could see storms as early as 3pm between Woodward and Elk City. Stay in touch with your local weather.

..A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of east central
Comanche, southern Grady and northwestern Stephens Counties through
800 AM CDT...

At 722 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles west of Marlow, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 30 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Duncan, Marlow, Rush Springs, Bray, Central High and Cox City.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Expect another hot and humid day today, with a chance for thunderstorms across western portions of the area by this evening.

Strong and damaging wind gusts will be possible with these storms, with the greatest risk across southwest OK and western north TX.
