Congratulations to Detective Sergeant Scott Ely for graduating for the 21st OSBI Agents Academy! This year's academy welcomed 39 law enforcement officers representing 24 agencies from across the state.

We would also like to congratulate OSBI Special Agent Gillian O'Brien for graduating from the Academy. Special Agent O'Brien previously served as a Chickasha Police Department Patrol Lieutenant and is now assigned to our district with OSBI. We are proud to see former members of our department continue to serve communities and make an impact across Oklahoma.

Please join us in congratulating Det. Sgt. Ely and Special Agent O’Brien!

Today was the OKC 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Sgt. Scott Ely and several Chickasha firefighters participated, and Sgt. Ely shared what an honor it was to him to be part of honoring first responders and others who lost their lives 25 years ago.

“Being there with so many first responders from around the state and sharing the experience while doing something physically commanding meant a lot to me,” Ely shared.

We recently teamed up with Chick-fil-A Chickasha for Ice Cream with a Cop! During the event, we passed out 182 cones and loved interacting with citizens. We hope all who attended had as much fun as we did!

With the school year in full swing, we wanted to remind drivers of a few safety tips:

🚸Slow down in school zones.
🚌 Stop for school buses.
📵 Put your phone away and stay alert.
👀 Watch for children walking and biking.

Our officers will be conducting extra patrols and traffic enforcement around our schools to help keep everyone safe.

Let's work together to make this a safe school year!
