Chickasha Police Chief Goebel “G.G.” Music will retire on July 10, 2026, after a distinguished law enforcement career spanning more than 28 years of dedicated service to Chickasha citizens. Please join us for a come-and-go reception in his honor at City Hall before this evening's City Council Meeting (from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.).

Music began serving the Chickasha Police Department as a reserve officer in April 1996 until he was sworn in as a patrol officer on May 1, 1998. He steadily advanced through the ranks during his tenure, being promoted Sergeant in July 2006 then Lieutenant in October 2007. He was the first Commissioned Supervisor over Neighborhood Services, a division encompassing, at that time, Code Enforcement and Animal Welfare. He developed and implemented training for these employees, obtaining equipment and uniforms needed to do their jobs. Music was promoted to Assistant Chief on September 1, 2016, and was appointed Chief of Police on July 1, 2023.

“Chief Music has faithfully served the citizens of Chickasha with unwavering dedication, integrity, and professionalism,” said Mayor Zachary Grayson. “Throughout his career, he has been more than a law enforcement officer, he has been a mentor, a leader, and a steadfast presence for our community. Chief Music’s commitment to public service has left a lasting impact on countless police officers who have had the privilege of serving under his leadership, as well as on the generations of Chickasha residents whose lives have been touched by his compassion and dedication.”
