This November, on the ballot, you will have an opportunity to vote yes on measure C. In doing so you will make an investment in our community’s schools. Upgraded facilities provide students with a safe learning environment that is essential for learning success.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me. www.YesOnChicoSchools.com also has more information about the school bond and what the dollars will be spent on.

This experience has been like no other.
I have been SO grateful for the overwhelming support from our community. Thank you for being incredibly encouraging and supportive❤️❤️.

We have instilled in our children that giving it your best effort and working hard is what is most important with all the endeavors they pursue. Today my little people will be watching how I respond to the outcome of the election. Regardless of how it turns out, my hope is that I demonstrate the sportsmanship that I have taught my athletes and kids.

These four children of ours, along with yours, are my motivation. Know this much…if I have the privilege of serving on CUSD School Board , I will fiercely advocate for all students to ensure that they receive the educational experience they deserve. And if I don’t have the opportunity of serving on School Board, I will do the same. ✏️ 🍎 📚

A community member reached out to me and asked if I would visit Citrus Elementary. And I am SO glad I did!!

Yesterday morning I met with the principal and was able to tour the campus and meet staff at Citus too. This is a quintessential Chico neighborhood school that meets the whole person needs of over 300 students. Mrs. Payne, the pricipal, shared the joys and challenges she has encountered at Citrus, one challenge being that she started just days prior to Camp Fire.

The school is one of our oldest as it dates back to 1936. There are many things such as the pillars and single pane windows that add beauty and charm. However, there are others things that need attention and facilities updating to ensure safety for staff and students. Citrus has an amazing partnership with Bidwell Presbyterian, who is committed to numerous projects to help beautify the campus as well as sponsoring field trips for a student population that may not be able to afford such experiences.

I was most impressed by Mrs. Payne’s enthusiasm and love for what she does. It is evident that she has worked hard to create an environment where the Citrus staff recognize the high calling that education is. Citrus has been hit hard over the past few years and the academic recovery is among one of their greatest challenges. Their commitment though reaches beyond just teaching, as she reports Citrus’ dedication to meet the physical, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of these children. I absolutely love that!!
I look forward to (hopefully) serving on School Board and partnering with our amazing neighborhood schools. It would be a great honor ✏️.
