Rebecca was an active and involved student in the public school system participating in student government, community service and athletics during her educational formative years. She attended Loma Linda University for her undergraduate Nursing degree (1999) and then completed her Master of Science degree in Nursing from UCLA (2001) and became a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Rebecca has experience
teaching undergraduate Pediatric Nursing at LLU and Purdue University in Fort Wayne, IN. Rebecca and her husband, Taylor moved to Chico in 2008 and have raised their four children in the community they love dearly. Taylor is an Orthopedic Surgeon and has practiced medicine at Orthopedic Associates of Northern California for the past 14 years. Taylor and Rebecca's oldest son, Luke, is a Senior and their second son, Jake is a Freshman at Chico High. Their daughter, Holly, is in 6th grade and their youngest, Julia, is in 3rd grade at Nord Country School. After an extended time at home raising their young children, Rebecca reentered the health care work force and works part time at Chico Pediatrics as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Taylor and Rebecca are also actively involved in the agricultural world and farm over one hundred acres of walnuts. The Konkin family most enjoys time with their family, friends and animals, outdoor activities and sports, and community service and involvement. In the community, Rebecca and her family are involved with church, Scouts, 4H, Little League, and PTO. Rebecca volunteers as a cross-country and softball coach at Nord Country School and has successfully organized and chaired the school Jog-a-Thon each year. She volunteers by completing physicals for student athletes at the high school level and enjoys spending a week each summer as a volunteer camp nurse. Rebecca enjoys staying active by running and makes it her goal to always encourage and support her children as they navigate school and participate in their extracurricular activities.
