Now that the 2025-2026 Annual Report is here, we will be highlighting components of the publication here on our social media channels.

The Annual Grant Cycle section of the report highlights three of our larger annual grant programs. The Aaron Rodgers, Donna Murrill and Camp Fire funds accept applications just once a year granting out well over tens of thousands of dollars annually.

As our hearts are with the people Nepal and Tibet. We wanted to share some resources for those looking to support the disaster relief efforts happening there now.

Global Giving: A donation to Global Giving's Nepal Relief Fund will help local organizations provide lifesaving emergency response, medical care, shelter, food and clean water to survivors. To learn more or make a donation, go to globalgiving.org/projects/nepal-flood-relief-fund/

World Central Kitchen: A donation to the World Central Kitchen's response to the disaster in Nepal will support their team on the ground in Nepal's Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. They already have restaurant partners on the ground serving meals in the affected communities. Catholic Relief Services: A donation to Catholic Relief Services' flooding disaster relief fund will help provide relief and assistance to families in the impacted areas. It will support safe shelter, food, clean water, hygiene supplies and other essential household items. The organization is working closely with local partners like Caritas Nepal to assess urgent needs and how best to support those affected. All Hands and Hearts: A donation to All Hands and Hearts' Nepal flood relief fund will support efforts on the ground in Nuwakot assessing the damage and preparing to respond to the crisis in real time. As the crisis evolves, the organization will keep its social media channels updated as it learns what is needed the most. The Donna Murrill Wildfire Fund at NVCF has granted $10,786 to help the Butte Prescribed Burn Association add a second fire engine to double the pace and scale of operations. The Prescribed Burn Association, which is part of the Butte County Resource Conservation District, has implemented 109 prescribed fires treating 514 acres since 2021. The grant will allow the purchase of all the components needed to turn a half-ton pickup into a fully equipped fire engine.

The Donna Murrill Wildfire Fund at NVCF has granted $10,000 for a program through Northern Valley Catholic Social Service Inc. (NVCSS) that provides defensible space and vegetation management for low-income older adults in fire-prone areas.

New fund announcement: The Jan Sneed Youth Scholarship, through the CARD Foundation held here at NVCF, helps families facing financial barriers access fee-based recreation programs. Eligible applicants must submit the scholarship application and proof of income. Approved recipients receive $275 per child per fiscal year for program fees. Please note that scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to available funds.

The Donna Murrill Wildfire Fund at NVCF has granted $10,000 to a Butte County Fire Safe Council program that provides defensible space and performs risk assessments for vulnerable homeowners. Work includes cutting and chipping brush, and removing dead and dying trees. Project participants are prioritized based on need, with the highest priority given to residents who are low-income, elderly and disabled.
