New fund announcement: The Dr. Gregory B.W. Watts Memorial Scholarship Fund was created to honor the legacy of a loving father, brother, friend and longtime community member by supporting students who embody hard work, kindness and dedication to their community. The fund will award annual scholarships to graduating seniors from Glenn or Tehama counties via NVCF's scholarship platform.

Fund Event: The Chico Firefighters IAFF Local 2734 Charity Golf Tournament is here. The event, happening Monday, June 1, at Canyon Oaks Country Club in Chico, will include golfing, lunch, prizes and more. Entry fee is $700 for a four-person team. All proceeds will benefit the Captain Andrews Scholarship Endowment Fund to support newly graduated cadets from the Butte College Fire Academy. New fund announcement: The Colusa County Law Enforcement Memorial Committee fund has been created to raise money to establish a law enforcement memorial to honor Colusa County officers killed in the line of duty. The funds raised will go directly toward the cost of construction of a memorial structure in Colusa County. Congratulations to Berry Creek Rancheria of Maidu Indians, one of 29 organizations in Butte County that received a grant in April from the Aaron Rodgers NorCal Fire Recovery Grant Program. The grant is for the Native Youth Rising after-school program. The 29 grants totaled $200,000 for projects focused on the health and wellness of young people in Butte County.
