We wanted to share information about PG&E’s upcoming virtual town hall for customers and agency partners in the North Coast region for this Wednesday, August 26th.

During this virtual event, they will share updates on their wildfire safety work in the North Coast, recent wildfire risk response, local engagements and customer resources. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions, share feedback and connect with local PG&E leaders, including North Coast Regional Vice President, Dave Canny.

On Friday, August 21, the North State Food Bank hosted a drive-thru food distribution in Palermo, serving 940 community members.

A special thank you to the Palermo Grange for generously allowing us to use your facility and helping make this event possible. Community partnerships like yours help us reach more people and strengthen our impact throughout the region.

Last month, we received two kitchen boxes donated by St. John's Episcopal Church through their Project (Re)Start. These boxes were donated to 2 different clients of Butte CARES that have just become housed!

Project (Re)Start is an initiative by the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California to develop standardized bins containing essential household and personal goods to help victims after the initial days of a disaster. These bins are distributed free of charge to anybody who has been displaced, is establishing a household in a rebuilt residence, or has experienced forced relocation. This provides interested congregations a way to provide tangible support to victims.

Thank you to the local congregation at St. John's who provides Kitchen boxes and have been kind enough to offer their assistance to our members in need!

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and generosity of our amazing donors, volunteers, partner agencies, and community supporters. Please join us in welcoming Emily Todd to the Esplanade House team as our new Family Resource Center Assistant!

Emily recently graduated from Chico State with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and hopes to continue her education to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She will be supporting our child and family activities and providing child watch services while parents attend classes and programming here at Esplanade House.

When she's not at work, Emily enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Willow, a German Shepherd mix, and Charlie, a Papillon mix. While she loves the bright, warm days of summer, her favorite season is winter, when the weather turns cool and rainy.

We're excited to have Emily join our team and look forward to the positive impact she'll make for the children and families we serve. Please help us give her a warm Esplanade House welcome! 💙🏠
