We are a group of patients, growers, attorneys, business owners, dispensaries, and civil rights activists striving for fair and ethical laws and legislation regarding residents rights to grow their own medicine. Our goal is to stop the Butte County Board of Supervisors and City/County Officials in the State of California from enacting ORDINANCE-4029 and other legislation restricting medical ma****
*na patient rights. The Committee is working towards finding common ground to sensible ordinances that protects medical ma*****na patient rights granted by Proposition 215 and Senate Bill 420. The signature drive was a complete success with a total of 12,308 signatures collected. We came close to collecting double the amount of signatures needed to qualify the referendum. How Can I Help? First, we need to raise contributions for the Political Action Committee, Citizens for Compassionate Use. Contributions to the Citizens for Compassionate Use, A Political Action Committee, are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes. Contributions to the Committee are not subject to contribution limits. Individuals, businesses, other organizations and committees may contribute to the Committee. Contributor information is required for all contributors by State law. Foreign nationals are prohibited from making contributions. Second, we need volunteers to help participate in our campaign to combat Butte County Ordinance 4029 and other similar legislation the Butte County Board of Supervisors and other cities and counties in the State of California have proposed. We need volunteers and concerned citizens all over the State of California to attend their local legislative meetings and voice their opinions and concerns about protecting medical ma*****na patient rights. The campaign, however, is far from over. The Chico Enterprise Record has started a fear campaign, based upon the fictional specter of “Guerrilla Gardeners,” who carry automatic weapons and utilize Pitt Bulls to guard their massive local ma*****na gardens. You and I both know that these individuals plant their huge gardens in our national forests, not on our neighbors’ private property. Medical ma*****na patients are simply looking for a safe alternative to the “Black Market”. Cities and Counties are attacking both dispensaries and local cultivation of medical ma*****na. If we do nothing, there will be no safe and cost effective access to the medicine, which we know that medical ma*****na patients deserve and need to obtain. We need to raise contributions and find volunteers to organize voter registration/information drives, distributing literature and other campaign materials, hosting awareness festivals, creating/distributing yards signs, organizing/completing precinct walks, combating fear campaigns with media outlets and elected officials pertaining to medical ma*****na, attorneys fees, maintaining the website, organizing fundraiser/phone campaign volunteers and various other crucial tasks needed to organize and complete a successful campaign.
