Mental health impacts our community every single day. Today, we come together to do something about it.

Join us for Music for Mental Health from 4–8 PM at The Commons Chico, located at 2412 Park Avenue.

This is a family-friendly event with live music, local vendors, and space to come together as a community around something that matters.

Every part of today supports the work happening at Everhart Village, where individuals facing serious mental health challenges are working toward stability with consistent, on-site support.

Bring the kids, invite a friend, and stop by for a while.

Simple ways to show up can make a real difference.

Mental Health Awareness Month isn’t always about heavy conversations. Sometimes it’s about slowing down, getting outside, listening to live music, enjoying yummy food, seeing familiar faces, laughing with friends, supporting local causes, and reminding ourselves that community matters too.

That’s exactly what tomorrow is about.

Join us for Music for Mental Health this Sunday, May 24th, from 4–8 PM at The Commons Chico for an evening of live music, local vendors, food, drinks, and community connection, all supporting Everhart Village and mental health support here in Chico.

Bring the family, invite your friends, grab dinner and a drink, and come be part of something positive in our community.

Plus, The Commons will be donating 10% of all food and beverage sales during the event to support Everhart Village.

No pressure. No heavy agenda. Just good people coming together for a good cause. 💙

Mental health impacts more people in our community than most realize. Nearly 1 in 5 adults experience a mental health condition each year, and for many, stable housing plays a major role in recovery, safety, and long-term well-being.

That’s one of the reasons we’re hosting Music for Mental Health on Sunday, May 24th, from 4–8 PM at The Commons Chico, located at 2412 Park Avenue in Chico.

This free community benefit concert is about bringing people together through live music, connection, and local action. Come spend the evening with us, support local vendors and musicians, grab dinner and a drink, and help support programs making a direct impact here in Chico. The Commons will also donate 10% of all food and beverage sales all evening to support the cause.

Proceeds from the event will help support Everhart Village, CHAT’s 20-cabin supportive shelter community serving individuals facing severe mental health challenges as they work toward long-term housing stability.

If you’ve been looking for a way to support mental health awareness locally while enjoying a great night with the community, we’d love to see you there.

Mental health and housing are deeply connected.

You can’t focus on healing when you don’t know where you’re going to sleep. You can’t maintain stability without a safe, consistent place to land.

That’s why permanent and supportive housing is a critical part of mental health care.

Everhart Village was built with this in mind. It’s not just shelter. It’s structure, support, and a pathway forward for individuals facing severe mental health challenges.

In Butte County, the need for this kind of support continues to grow.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re focusing on solutions that work.

Music for Mental Health is one of those moments. Join us on Sunday, May 24th, from 4-8 PM at The Commons Chico, located at 2412 Park Avenue, for a chance to come together, raise awareness, and directly support programs like Everhart Village. This event is free to attend, and The Commons will graciously donate 10% of all proceeds to the cause.

We hope you can join us at Tbar on Vallombrosa Avenue today until 8 PM for the Chico Housing Takeover and support the work happening at Chico Housing Action Team.

20% of your purchase will be donated, which means something as simple as stopping in for a drink or picking up an order can directly support housing and stability in our community.

If you’re ordering online, add “Chico Housing Takeover” in the notes. If you’re coming in, just let the staff know.

This is one of those moments where showing up makes a real impact. Hope to see you there.

In Butte County, mental health is a growing concern.

Our local su***de rate is around 16 deaths per 100,000 residents, compared to roughly 10 per 100,000 across California. That gap reflects a real and ongoing need for support in our community.

In Butte County, 48% of people living on the streets have a reported mental health condition.

Behind that number are individuals facing serious challenges, often without stable housing.

At CHAT, we see how closely these issues are connected. When someone is outside, their mind and body stay in survival mode. They may be trying to stay awake to protect themselves, carrying trauma from violence or loss, struggling to keep medications safe, or missing appointments because they have no transportation, phone, or a stable place to return to.

This is where real solutions matter.

Everhart Village is a 20-cabin supportive shelter community designed for individuals facing severe mental health challenges. It provides structure, stability, and on-site support, creating a bridge from crisis to long-term housing.

We are working toward a $200,000 goal to keep this program operating for those who need it most.

This is a direct way to be part of the solution.
