Our Mission:
The City of Chicopee Department of Planning & Development was established "...to administer governmental and municipal functions and responsibilities in the field of city planning; to coordinate efforts directed toward the future development of the city; to assure its continued improvement, consistent with its physical, social and economic conditions and resources..." Departmental res

ponsibilities include: administrative work for many of the City's boards and commissions, directing site plan review on proposed development projects, managing grant projects, and spearheading community projects and initiatives. The department also acts as adviser to the Mayor, City Council, municipal departments and all municipal boards and commissions on planning related matters.
