🚌 Chicopee School Bus Safety Program Begins Enforcement August 26

The City of Chicopee and Chicopee Public Schools are partnering with BusPatrol to help protect students as they travel to and from school.

Beginning August 26, 2026, motorists who illegally pass a stopped school bus with its red warning lights flashing and stop arm extended will receive a $250 citation by mail. The program uses cameras on school buses to capture potential violations, which are then reviewed by the Chicopee Police Department.

As we head back to school, please remember that stopping for a school bus is more than following the law, it’s about protecting our children. Slow down, stop, and help keep Chicopee’s students safe.

As the nation’s AI industry builds out at high speed, mom-and-pop organizers and environmental advocacy groups across the country have written to regulators and packed hearings to oppose air permits for data centers in their communities.
