We are pleased to announce that the second-floor wheelchair lift at Chicopee City Hall is now fully operational!

This important improvement provides ADA-accessible access to the second floor, including:

♿ City Clerk’s Office
♿ Human Resources
♿ Retirement Office
♿ Second-Floor Conference Room

We are proud to continue improving accessibility at City Hall and ensuring that our municipal services are accessible to everyone.

🚧 PUBLIC NOTICE – FORMER UNIROYAL SITE DEMOLITION

Demolition work at the former Uniroyal Site will continue today as crews resume with the controlled demolition of the Fisk Smokestack.

⚠️ Please be advised: This is a controlled demolition operation that is expected to take more than a couple of days to complete.

🚲 The bike path along the flood wall will remain CLOSED during demolition operations. There will be no public access to the area immediately surrounding the demolition site.

For everyone’s safety, please respect all barricades, closure signs, and restricted areas, and do not attempt to enter the work zone.

We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation while this work is safely completed.

Overnight there will be a police detail posted on the site to prevent safety breaches until the demolition project is complete.

🚧 PUBLIC NOTICE – FORMER UNIROYAL SITE FISK SMOKESTACK DEMOLITION UPDATE 🚧

The City of Chicopee would like to notify residents that the Fisk smokestack at the former Uniroyal site is scheduled for demolition starting on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 lasting most of a week weather dependent.

🚲 The Flood Wall Bike Road behind the site will be CLOSED during demolition operations.

🚫 There will be NO public access near the demolition site. For everyone’s safety, please stay away from the site and do not attempt to enter or bypass closure points on the bike path.

🎉 National Night Out 2026! 🎉

The Chicopee Facilities Department had a great time enjoying National Night Out 2026 at Szot Park! 🇺🇸👮‍♂️🚒

It was a wonderful evening filled with community, family, fun, and an opportunity to connect with the residents we proudly serve. Events like National Night Out are a great reminder of the strong partnerships between our community, first responders, and City departments.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the evening a success! We’re proud to be part of the Chicopee community and look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

Today is the day!! National Night Out will be kicking off at 5:00 PM. This year is already breaking records with over 100 vendors signed up. Stop by, grab some food, ice cream and check out all of the games. We look forward to seeing everyone tonight.
