📢 City of Chicopee Holiday Closure Notice
In observance of Juneteenth National Independence Day, all City of Chicopee municipal buildings and offices will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026.
Regular business hours will resume on Monday, June 22, 2026.
Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a time to reflect on the values of freedom, equality, and opportunity for all.

WEATHER ADVISORY🚨🚨

Chicopee Emergency Management is advising residents to remain alert as forecasts indicate the potential for severe weather this afternoon and evening.

Potential Hazards Include:

* 🌩️ Strong to severe thunderstorms
* 💨 Damaging wind gusts
* ⚡ Frequent lightning
* 🌧️ Heavy rainfall with localized flooding
* 🌳 Downed trees and power lines

Preparedness and Safety Tips:

* Secure outdoor furniture, umbrellas, and other loose objects that may become airborne.
* Ensure cell phones and other essential electronic devices are fully charged.
* Monitor trusted weather sources and emergency notifications for the latest updates.
* Seek shelter indoors immediately if thunder is heard.
* Never drive through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don’t Drown

City emergency departments are actively monitoring weather conditions and are prepared to respond as needed. Residents are encouraged to remain weather aware, review their emergency plans, and take appropriate precautions should severe weather affect the area.

The Golf outdoor fridge/freezer is finally complete!! What was a long project that started back in January is now complete. We are incredibly grateful for all who helped bring this project to the finish line.

First and foremost thank you to Mayor Vieau and City Council for funding this project.

To Kittredge Equipment for helping design and install the fridge/freezer.

Sanderson Masonry for the concrete pad it sits on

DPW Electrical Dept- Conor thank you for the countless hours you spent ensuring that this project is complete the work you did was perfect.

E.F. Corcoran Plumbing and Heating for installing the condensers and cooling equipment and all the piping.

Facilities Dept: Our Director Dave, George and Dan

Turn 9 Restaurant- thank you for being patient and working with us while we completed the project.

Golf Commissioners and Golf Pro Mike for approving of the location of the walk in.

This project is a true testament of team work and different aspects of city departments and vendors working together to complete a project.

Thanks to all involved and glad we are able to get the job done!

The Chicopee 250 Celebration and Fireworks signs are now up at Chicopee Parks and Recreation Department Szot Park Main Entrance. A huge thank you to Chicopee Electric Light for installing the new signs for us. Glad to help coordinate this install with our other city departments.
