Wearing your seat belt can save you from serious injury.

It can also save you $200 in fines.

Officers across Texas, including Childress County Sheriff’s Office, will be stepping up enforcement of seat belt laws from May 18 through May 31.

Make sure to buckle up.

****Emergency Test Messages Incoming****

Today there will be a TEST of the alerting systems that we use to keep you informed. This is a State wide drill and will happen between 10am and 12:30.

Landline based emergency notification systems, wireless emergency alerting (WEA) and Integrated Public Warning systems (IPAWS) are tools we use to alert the public. Regular testing of public warning systems is critical to ensuring accurate and timely communication during disasters and emergencies.

🎉Exciting News from the Childress County Sheriff’s Office

After a lot of hard work, planning, and collaboration, I’m proud to announce that our new Sheriff’s Office app is officially LIVE.

This is something we’ve been working on behind the scenes to better serve our community. This will make our Office more accessible for everyone in Childress County.

With the new app, you can:
• Stay up to date with important announcements and alerts
• Submit tips and information securely
• Access contact information, resources and job opportunities
• Learn about inmates, approved bondsman, visitation and phone service
• Sheriff sales, stray livestock, Texas s*x offender registry and so much more

Our goal is to remain open and engaged, as well as keeping you informed and safe. This app is another tool to help us do just that.

Thank you to our team and partners who helped make this possible, and thank you to the citizens of Childress County for your continued support and trust.

👉 Download the app today and stay connected with us. Scan the QR code or download the Sheriff Connect application in your phones App Store. Search for Childress County Sheriffs Office and don’t forget to enable notifications. We promise not to inundate you with notifications, only the most important ones will go out.

Today we received a call from a county resident who was greeted by a door to door salesperson. They were told the Sheriffs Office knew about them doing this activity. This is false. We have not received any calls from a salesperson informing us of their activities. Although there are ordinances prohibiting this activity without permit and a vetting process inside the city, there are no such prohibitions in the county. Their business has not been verified as legitimate through our office.
