I hate that I even have to make this post. But here it is please know when you see cones, barricades, or emergency vehicles setup like this. That means you can NOT pass through these roads are shut down. They could be shut down due to an incident or us trying to protect an area for our citizens to enjoy an celebrate an event. So please stop making the area unsafe for our firefighters, police officers, Txdot employees, and citizens by driving through these areas. There is no reason to get upset with anyone standing in those spots to block traffic it should be known just by seeing the cones an vehicles setup that you can’t pass through. Thank you

*** Designated Public Fireworks Area ***

Starting today (6/25/2026) thru 7/4/2026 the public will be allowed to pop off fireworks inside of city limits on the north side of the Bobcat Football Stadium. The Childress Fire Department has set up safety cones wrapped in caution tape to designate a safe area.

For your & other's safety, please stay inside the designated area when popping off fireworks! Please supervise when needed & be responsible with igniting fireworks!!!

There will also be a city dumpster outside the safety area so you can properly dispose of your used/ignited firework containers.

Times the public can pop off fireworks is:

6/25 - 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
6/26 - 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM
6/27 - 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM
6/28 - 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
6/29 - 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
6/30 - 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
7/1 - 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
7/2 - 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
7/3 - 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM
7/4 - 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM

On the behalf of the entire Childress Fire Department, we would like to thank Mr. Steve Shern that is with the Childress Hall Golf Course for the donation of $1,000!!!

The generous donation was presented last Saturday (6/20/2026) while CFD firefighter were cooking hamburgers for a fundraiser for the department downtown.

We are set up in front of the old Whites building on Main Street.

Burger, chips, Rice Krispy treat & a water for $15!

All proceeds will be used for training, equipment & gear for your local firefighters!!!
