The Institutional Peer Support Program would like to recognize COII Jeremiah West as June 2026 IPS Staff Spotlight of the Month. The nomination indicates: Mr. West chooses excellence every day, shares common humanity with others, promotes the mental health and well-being of all residents, and remains alert for all issues. He doesn’t hesitate to ask IPS to mentor a peer whom he notices is in distress. He does not simply walk away from an issue, or neglect any individuals’ personal experience. He works through conflict, tempers and tears without threats or neglect. IPS would like to thank COII West for continually supporting our mission of wellness for all.

Please join us in congratulating COI Lightfoot and COII Dunks who were recently presented with the Department of Corrections Lifesaver Award.

Recently, COI Lightfoot was assisting a newly hired employee, when a medical emergency occurred in the nearby module. COI Lightfoot was quick to act by assisting the employee to the ground to prevent injury. CO I Lightfoot called for further assistance and gathered any information to better assist medical staff at the facility. When the situation worsened, COI Lightfoot along with COII Dunks quickly assisted the employee by using their training to provide a quick response time and to prevent further injury of the employee.
