September 11, 2001- Never Forget

September 11, 2001 β€” We Will Never Forget

Today we pause to honor the 2,977 innocent lives lost in the attacks on our nation.

This includes:
-2,753 lives at the World Trade Center in New York City
-184 lives at the Pentagon
-40 lives aboard Flight 93 in Pennsylvania

Among them were:
-343 FDNY firefighters
-1 New York Fire Patrolman
-71 law enforcement officers
-55 U.S. military personnel
-8 EMTs/paramedics
And thousands of civilians β€” mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends, and neighbors.

We remember their sacrifice, the families forever changed, and the courage of all first responders who ran toward danger that day.

(Numbers verified by the 9/11 Memorial & Museum)

πŸŽ† Three Sisters Park Fireworks & Fourth of July Safety Notice – 7/4/25 πŸŽ†

Independence Day is a time to celebrate the freedom, unity, and spirit of our nationβ€”a proud tradition marked by community gatherings, fireworks, and festivities. As we come together to honor this special day, safety remains our top priority.

The Chillicothe Fire Department is proud to support the annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show at Three Sisters Park with on-site firefighters and EMS personnel to help keep everyone safe.

If you’re attending the event:
βœ… Use designated parking and entry routes β€” follow all traffic and law enforcement instructions
βœ… Stay within marked spectator zones and keep a safe distance from the launch area
🚫 No personal fireworks allowed
πŸ’§ Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated in the summer heat
πŸ‘€ Keep a close eye on children β€” large crowds and darkness increase safety risks
πŸ—‘οΈ Dispose of trash properly β€” help prevent fire hazards and keep the park clean
πŸ“ž In case of emergency, call 911 and notify on-site firefighters, EMS personnel, or event staff immediately

If you’re celebrating elsewhere or at home:
βœ… Follow all state and local laws regarding fireworks
πŸ’§ Stay hydrated and watch out for heat-related illness
πŸ‘€ Keep pets indoors and supervise children closely
πŸ“ž Call 911 immediately if there is an emergency

Let’s all celebrate safely and enjoy the Fourth of July together!

Hello, Chillicothe community! My name is Jen Gustafson, and I am honored to serve as the new President of the Chillicothe Community Firefighter Association (CCFA) and as an active firefighter for the Chillicothe Community Fire Protection District (CCFPD). I’m a proud mother of four and grandmother of four, and my journey here has been both challenging and rewarding.
Before moving to Chillicothe in 2019, I worked as a legal advocacy coordinator, helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. After relocating with my youngest daughter, Zella, I knew I wanted a career that allowed me to continue serving others. I decided to pursue firefighting, and within a month of moving here, I applied to join the Chillicothe Fire Department.
The training and experience have been intense but incredibly fulfilling. Over the years, I’ve earned numerous certifications and continue to learn from an amazing team of professionals who feel like family. Firefighting is one of the most rewarding and noble professions, where no two days are the same, and every call matters.
For those who may not be aware, the Chillicothe Community Firefighter Association (CCFA) was established to give back to the community we serve. We are committed to making our community a better place by supporting firefighters and local organizations that directly benefit the people, our town, and our future.
As the new President, I am excited to continue supporting our department, our community, and the dedicated men and women who serve alongside me. I’m also proud to show my children that with determination, anything is possible. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve!
