Statement from Chief Rick Ray:

The Scioto Township Fire Department is aware of the arrest and charges filed against Assistant Chief Nathaniel T. Freeman. Mr. Freeman has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the legal process. We take these allegations seriously and are fully cooperating with the appropriate authorities.
Because this is an active legal matter, we will not comment further on the details of the case at this time.

Our department remains committed to serving the residents of Scioto Township with professionalism, accountability, and integrity.

Our crew is presently responding to an incident in the 1100 block of Cooks Hill, where a large tree has downed transmission lines. American Electric Power has been notified and will promptly work to remove the tree and restore power to affected areas as expeditiously as possible.
