Meet Austin Bartchy, an Automotive Technologies senior on job placement at Nourse. He’s taking what he’s learned in the lab straight into the workplace and earning a paycheck while sharpening his skills. 🔧💰

Science stepped outside the classroom as Mrs. Hamel’s students visited nearby Kinnikinnick Fen to learn about aquaculture and wetland ecosystems. 🌿💧

Ross County Parks District Director Myranda McBee explained what makes the fen different from other types of wetlands before students hiked into the preserve to test the water’s temperature and pH.

The class plans to return later this year, hopefully with drier conditions that will allow them to explore even deeper into the preserve!
