Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you the Ross County Courthouse.

Following Memorial Day and as we continue recognizing America 250, the historic Ross County Courthouse remains proudly dressed in red, white, and blue.

What many see as beautiful decorations and patriotic displays is the result of a lot of hard work behind the scenes. Staff from the Commissioner’s Office (Brad Cosenza, Cathy Primer, Rylee Elliott) and the Maintenance Department spent countless hours planning, coordinating, decorating, and bringing this vision to life to showcase the pride we have in our community and our country.

A special thank you as well to The Flag Lady for the beautiful flag displays around the courthouse. We appreciate the partnership and support in helping make the courthouse look its very best for Memorial Day and the America 250 celebration.

These photos highlight just some of the work that has already gone into transforming the courthouse grounds for this important milestone leading up to America 250. The decorating is not finished yet, and we encourage residents to continue watching as even more patriotic displays and additions come together in the days ahead.

We enjoyed welcoming the second grade class from Bishop Flaget Catholic School to the Ross County Courthouse today!

The students had the opportunity to visit the Commissioners Office, learn a little about county government, and tour the courthouse with Commissioner Glass. It made the visit even more special as his son is part of this year’s class.

We always enjoy seeing local students take an interest in how their county works and appreciate the teachers and staff who help make these learning opportunities possible.

Unfortunately, illegal tire dumping continues to be an issue across Ross County. These tires were recently collected from along our roadways and public areas, creating not only an eyesore, but also environmental and safety concerns for our communities.

To help residents properly dispose of unwanted tires and electronics, the RPHF Solid Waste District - Recycling’s 2026 Tire & Electronic Disposal Events begin this weekend. Please review the attached flyer for collection dates, locations, accepted items, and additional information.

Let’s work together to keep Ross County clean, safe, and beautiful by disposing of tires responsibly instead of leaving them along roadsides and throughout our communities.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and yesterday the Ross County Board of Commissioners proudly proclaimed May 2026 as Mental Health Awareness Month in Ross County.

This year’s theme, “More Good Days, Together,” reminds us that mental health matters for everyone and that support, compassion, and connection can make a real difference.

Commissioner Jack Everson presented the proclamation during the Community Art Show hosted by the Paint Valley ADAMH Board at Ohio University Chillicothe. The evening beautifully showcased local artists while bringing the community together to promote mental health awareness, support, and connection.

The Ross County Commissioners encourage all residents to check in on loved ones, support one another, and continue helping break the stigma surrounding mental health.

Last Thursday, members of our community gathered on the front steps of the Ross County Courthouse to observe the 2026 National Day of Prayer.

The Ross County Commissioners were honored to sign a proclamation recognizing this special day and encouraging our community to come together in prayer, reflection, and unity.

Thank you to everyone who attended and took part in this meaningful tradition. Moments like these remind us of the strength found in community and service to one another.
