****Meadia Release-Structure Fire****

The Chilton Fire Department was dispatched to the 400 block of Randolph Street on Wednesday, 8/5/2026 at approximately 16:49 hours for a possible structure fire, with smoke coming from the rear of the home. MABAS Box Card 109-1-1 was requested to the Working Still. The first due company arrived to find fire on the exterior wall of the home with extension into the attic. Crews completed a quick knock-down with extensive overhaul inside the structure. All occupants were able to safely exit the structure prior to our arrival, with no injuries reported. While the cause is still under investigation, a dollar estimate is not available at this time. The property owner is being assisted by the American Red Cross and Kelmann Restoration. We'd like to thank the Calumet County Sheriff's Office, Chilton Police Department, Gold Cross Ambulance, Hilbert Volunteer Fire Department, New Holstein Fire Department, Potter Fire Department, and Stockbridge Fire Department for their assistance this afternoon.

On the evening of Monday, July 27th, a request was made via MABAS Wisconsin Division 123 (Winnebago County) to assist the Fox Crossing Fire Department with a Strike Team of engines. Crews from Chilton Fire Department, Brillion Fire Department, Hilbert Volunteer Fire Department, New Holstein Fire Department, and Potter Fire Department responded with apparatus and personnel to assist in covering 9-11 calls, and providing secondary searches of storm-damaged areas. Crew remained on-scene until mid-morning Tuesday. We are proud to be part of the MABAS (Mutual Aid Box Alarm System) and support our neighbors in need. Truly neighbors helping neighbors! If looking to assist, please reach out to Volunteer Fox Cities for opportunities to help those residents in need.
