The buses are back on the roads, backpacks are packed, and another school year is officially underway!

As you’re out and about, please slow down, stay alert, and keep an extra eye out for school buses and children — especially during those busy morning and afternoon hours.

Give buses plenty of room, expect frequent stops, and take an extra second to look twice around bus stops, crosswalks, and school zones. 👀

A little patience behind the wheel can make a big difference in keeping our kids safe. ❤️

🛍️ **Support China Village Fire Department Every Time You Shop This August!** 🚒❤️

We're excited to share that **China Village Volunteer Fire Department** has once again been selected as the **August 2026 beneficiary** of the **Hannaford Helps Community Bag Program** at the **China Hannaford**!

📅 **When:** August 1–31, 2026

For every **$2.50 reusable Community Bag** purchased during the month of August, **$1 will be donated directly to the China Village Volunteer Fire Department.**

We've been fortunate to partner with this program since **2019**, and thanks to your support, it has generated **nearly $600** for our department. Every dollar helps us continue serving our community by supporting equipment, training, and other department needs.

If you're heading to Hannaford this month, consider picking up a Community Bag. It's an easy way to support your local volunteer firefighters while helping the environment too!

We're excited to share that China Village Volunteer Fire Department has once again been selected for the Hannaford Helps Community Bag Program at the China Hannaford!

📅 During the entire month of August, every $2.50 Hannaford Community Bag purchased at the China Hannaford (33 Hannaford Drive) will earn $1 for the China Village Volunteer Fire Department.

This is one of the easiest ways to support your local volunteer firefighters. Just grab a Community Bag during your regular grocery shopping, and Hannaford will donate $1 to our department.

Since partnering with this program in 2019, your support has helped raise nearly $600 for our department—and we'd love to make August 2026 our best month yet!

🇺🇸🎆 **Happy 4th of July from China Village Vol Fire Department!** 🎆🇺🇸

Today is the day for BBQs, cold drinks, fireworks, and someone in every neighborhood saying, “Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.” 😬

A few friendly reminders from your local firefighters:

🔥 Keep grills away from houses, decks, and anything else you’d prefer to still have tomorrow.

🎆 Light fireworks one at a time, back up, and leave the “hold my beer and watch this” demonstrations to someone else.

🧨 If a firework doesn’t go off, give it plenty of time before approaching it. It may just be thinking about its life choices.

🚒 Keep roads and driveways clear so emergency vehicles can get through. We love seeing our community—just preferably at the BBQ and not professionally.

🐾 And remember, fireworks can be terrifying for pets. Keep them safe, secure, and inside. My pups will be inside saying extra snacks are a much better way to celebrate.

Have fun, be safe, and enjoy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

🍗🚒 Just a Friendly Reminder... You Don't Want to Cook Next Saturday! 🚒🍗

The grills will be fired up, the chicken will be cooking, and our firefighters will be ready to serve at the 25th Annual China Village Volunteer Fire Department Chicken BBQ!

Bring your family, your neighbors, your appetite... and maybe that friend who always says, "I've been meaning to come someday." 😄

Every meal helps support your local volunteer fire department and allows us to continue serving the community we all call home. We couldn't do what we do without your support, and this BBQ has become one of our favorite traditions because it gives us a chance to visit with so many of you outside of emergency calls.

🍰 Don't forget to save room for the homemade desserts from the China Baptist Church bake sale next door!
