Looking forward to this!!
The Chino Police Department is now accepting applications for the Chief’s Youth Leadership Committee.
The Chief’s Youth Leadership Committee is a group of teenagers and young adults who are interested in collaborating with the Chief of Police to positively impact the community. The primary focus is to address community issues by gathering relevant information and engaging in discussions to identify potential solutions. The committee serves as a conduit for the youth's perspective in the decision-making process within the community. It offers participants the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the functions of local government. The committee offers a platform for sharing ideas, encompassing youth from various backgrounds, students enrolled in both public and private schools, and young adults who are eager to effect positive change for their peers and future generations in the community.
This opportunity is ideal for young individuals between the ages of 16 and 20 who are committed to making a difference. The eligibility criteria includes: high school or college level coursework, maintaining a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher, obtaining two letters of recommendation from individuals outside their family circle that highlight their suitability as outstanding members of the CPD Chief’s Youth Leadership Committee, and receiving approval for the submission of necessary documents such as the application and parent consent form (for applicants under the age of 18). The meetings will be held quarterly and on a weeknight. The start date is to be determined.
