STEM Classroom Reveal at Kate M. Smith Elementary
We are proud to share that the NextEra Energy Foundation, the corporate foundation of NextEra Energy, Inc. and Florida Power & Light, has awarded the Washington County Educational Foundation Inc. a $50,000 grant to support the STEM Classroom Makeover at Kate M. Smith Elementary School.
This partnership has transformed the classroom and strengthened STEM learning for our students. The new space gives students hands-on opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, and math and builds skills that prepare them for future careers.
A special thank you to Kate M. Smith Elementary teacher Ashlyn Smith, who applied for the grant so that students of all learning styles and abilities could benefit from these new resources.
We invite our families and community to join us as we celebrate this partnership and reveal Kate M. Smith’s transformed STEM classroom.

🎾 A Dream Realized!
Today we cut the ribbon on the new tennis courts behind the old high school in Vernon!
These courts will serve both Vernon High School athletes and the entire community.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this dream a reality. Your support means the world!

Vernon VPK just received an “Above Expectations” designation for the 2025-26 school year!
They moved up from Meets Expectations last year and kept climbing.
Huge shoutout to our Lead Teachers and Paras for all the hard work that made this happen. We are only going up from here!

Washington Chipley VPK Center earned an “Excellent” designation for the 2025-26 school year!
