Chippewa Fire District is a combination fire department serving the townships of Hallie, Howard, Lafayette, and the Village of Lake Hallie staffed with 8 career personnel and 85 paid-on-call volunteers. All stations have paid on call employees assigned to them. Hallie Station 1, in the Village of Lake Hallie, serves as the District Headquarters. Hallie Station 1 is currently staffed with a 2-perso
n Paramedic Firefighter duty crew (1 Career & 1 Part-time) that responds to all fire and EMS calls. This station is also staffed with 28 paid on call volunteers (27 that do fire and or EMS / 1 that does dive calls only) under the direction of Deputy Chief Mike Nowak. Lafayette Station 3 is currently staffed with a 2-person Paramedic Firefighter duty crew (1 Career & 1 Part-time) that responds to all fire and EMS calls. Lafeyette Station 3 is also staffed with 24 paid on call volunteers (18 that do fire and or EMS / 6 that do dive calls only) under the direction of Deputy Chief Cory Jeffers. Howard Station 6 is current staffed with 17 paid on call volunteers (15 that do fire and or EMS / 2 that do EMS calls only) under the direction of Deputy Chief Cory Scheidler. The District is also staffed currently with 10 paid on call or duty shift volunteer FF/EMTs that work on the ambulance and can also respond to all calls.
