🌿 Headed outside to enjoy Wisconsin's spring weather? So are the ticks.
Ticks are active throughout Wisconsin and can spread diseases such as Lyme disease and anaplasmosis. The best way to protect yourself is to prevent tick bites before they happen.

✔️ Use insect repellent
✔️ Wear long sleeves and pants
✔️ Avoid tall grass and brush
✔️ Check yourself, your children, and your pets for ticks after spending time outdoors
✔️ Shower after coming inside

📱 Download the free Tick App from UW–Madison to identify ticks, report tick encounters, and learn more about preventing tick-borne diseases.

📍 Free tick collection kits are available at the Chippewa County Department of Public Health, thanks to a partnership with Marshfield Clinic Research Institute.

Set the stage for open conversations with kids about alcohol. Choose an event where you won’t drink and explain why—it’s a simple way to model healthy choices.

The Chippewa County Healthy Communities (CCHC) coalition supports alcohol prevention efforts across Chippewa County and among youth, and encourages parents and caregivers to have honest, supportive discussions with their children.

Not sure how to start the conversation? Hear what other parents are saying at https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/small-talks/index.htm.
