Get $25 to Spend at Local Farmers Markets

Each year, the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, funded through the federal Farm Bill and administered by the State of Wisconsin, helps older adults access fresh, locally grown produce.

In Chippewa County, the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) distributes $25 vouchers to eligible, low-income seniors. These vouchers can be used at local farmers’ markets and farm stands to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.

Best of all, farmers receive 100% of the voucher value, supporting local agriculture while helping bring new customers to the market.

***How to Apply***
Each year, applications become available no earlier than June 1, on a first-come first-serve basis, while supply lasts. This is a highly anticipated program with a limited number of vouchers.

View the ADRC's website for eligibility requirements and ways to apply, which includes a convenient online application that reserves your vouchers instantly (if any remain available):

🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨

The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office is warning the community about a disturbing extortion scam reported by several residents.
Victims have received threatening phone calls claiming the person receiving the call has a warrant for not attending jury duty, or asking family members to bail their family out of jail by demanding money from the victim. These messages are NOT from the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office and are part of a scam designed to frighten people and extort money.

🔹 Do NOT respond
🔹 Do NOT send money
🔹 We will never ask for gift cards, wire transfers, Venmo/Cash App/Apple Pay and/or crypto payments
🔹 Report suspicious messages and/or calls to law enforcement immediately
🔹 If the call sounds suspicious, hang up and call the specific number located on chippewacountywi.gov

These types of scams are designed to frighten and manipulate you — they are NOT legitimate. The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Chippewa County Jail and Chippewa County Clerk of Courts will not call you and collect payments over the phone. These payments are made IN PERSON at those locations.
