Celebrating the Queen of Country & Literacy at Chocorua Public Library! 📚✨
If there’s anyone who knows how to make reading as glamorous as a rhinestoned jumpsuit, it’s Dolly Parton. We’ve set up a special book and media display right here at the library to honor Dolly’s incredible artistry, style, and unwavering commitment to literacy.
Our current display features some library favorites:
* Books: Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones, Dolly Parton: Songteller, She Come By It Natural, and children’s favorites like Little Golden Book: Dolly Parton and Billy the Kid Makes It Big.
* Movies & Series: 9 to 5 and Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings.
Stop by the non-fiction room to check out a title, snap a photo, or grab a great read!

Dolly’s passion for getting books into the hands of young readers inspired millions through programs like the Imagination Library. 🌸 What a wonderful way to wrap up Summer Garden Storytime! 🌼

Our final garden storytime of the summer was filled with books, flowers, exploring, and plenty of smiles! 📚🌻

The children listened to stories all about flowers, created their own beautiful flower bookmarks, and headed into the garden for a flower scavenger hunt. 🔎🌺

And the perfect ending? Everyone had the chance to pick fresh vegetables from the garden to take home! 🥕🥒🍅

A huge thank you to all the families who joined us throughout the summer and helped make Summer Garden Storytime such a success. We loved watching children explore the gardens, discover new things, enjoy great books, and create special summer memories together.

Although our Summer Garden Storytime series has come to an end, there are plenty more stories and adventures ahead at Chocorua Public Library. 📚💛

A piece of literary history tucked right into the city! 📚✨ While in Chicago, Shauna made a stop at the historic brownstone that Earnest and Hadley Hemingway once called home.
Here’s a fun piece of trivia for all the bookworms out there: Did you know that after her marriage to Paul Scott Mowrer, Hadley actually served as a librarian at the Chocorua Public Library? Her lifelong love for literature ran deep long after her time with Ernest.
